So a few days ago I said I might post this for fun. Here it is!

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

Stick through past the noise of the awesome engine to see how it was done if you want to use this as the base engine for something even cooler!

And yes, I realize for a street car this thing would be useless...

Final edit! Opposite, why is there not an easy way to embed video?

Ever used Engine Analyzer Pro? It reminds me of that, sort of.

http://performancetrends.com/Engine-Analyze…

It's a trial version for a professional engine simulator, (and one you can't just re-download) but its incredibly realistic. Unfortunately, it also extremely expensive for the full version. I managed to get a Ford 302 up to ~520HP without a turbo, a 480ci Dodge RB block to ~900HP with nitromethane, which was cool, and built a few supercharged V8s for some massive power.

Ouch, at $700 plus...

Might demo it at least though.

My advice? Run a partition on your hard drive with a separate OS to get it to work. I can't find another way to make it last longer than the demo expiry time. Or use a computer you're okay with wiping afterward.

I have plenty of VMs (Or I can build a new one) if that's what needs to be done...

Alternatively, finding the right regkey or two would probably be just as easy and less of a headache daily.

(Not that I condone such activity or would do it.....)

We need a daily Oppo Automation challenge!

I would love to see that happen, but daily?

These engines take a while to make, tweak and or get working as you expect/ want.

But I have been kicking some ideas for my next engine around! Perhaps I should Oppo it as a true challenge (Like the scenarios in the game) and we can see how every one solves the same problem?

Yeah, maybe weekly is better. I can usually get mine working very well in a few hours... but I find myself staying up until 2AM playing this game haha.

I agree, a simple "max HP" battle is kind of easy. Maybe start out that way and let people get involved. Then we could try scenario style - (there is a formula for how the game calculates score in the manual!)

Have you tried the Insane 4-cyl military genset challenge? it is actually impossible in the current version, but it is extremely fun trying to get a little turbo to spool up before 3000 rpm on such a small engine!

I guess I need to read the manual.

I have played the scenarios some, but I spent most the time testing weird things. Like a 4L engine a tiny bore and huge stroke vs big bore - small stroke to compare the hp / torque curves...

Definitely a great game though...
